do you tip wood floor installers
We usually round up based on the size of the job - for example, we had a guy do our hardwood floors (more of a carpenter than "installer") and the whole job was around $4500, i think we gave him a $100 tip because he left the place spotless, no sawdust and the floors were incredible.. Like many have said have, "you don't have to" but do do you ever have to tip any services you recieve? my ex-boyfriend was a flooring installer and so is my best friends. they have to pay for the supplies if any are needed like glue, padding, tack strip, quarter round etc. and most don't get paid for the furniture moving and most customers have. I just bought a house and am having the floors replaced (was carpet, putting in vinyl hardwood looking ones). i am using a local company - only 1 store, not a franchise. do i tip the installers? i won't be at the house while they are working (i am still in my apt - not moving into the house until early may)..

Emily post says floor installers get a tip of $2 per hour. tip your lawyer 2%, and non-specialist physicians get a flat $20 tip per visit. dentists do not get tipped because they usually own the business.. Maybe the service was so great that you can’t help but tip. but i don’t take out the tip calculator the minute a contractor walks in the door. i believe in tipping well, but not in tipping everyone. if you do a job for me that i cannot do myself, then i’m paying your boss for your skills and he, in turn, should be paying you for those skills..
